Libertas Omnia Vincit.

Founded in 1962, the Monash University Liberal Club has been committed to fighting and advocating for Liberalism and freedom on campus.

University campuses ought to be a place for open inquiry and debate, where students are free to explore ideas and grow intellectually. Unfortunately, this is often not the case, with students instead being met with stifling conformity and a culture hostile to liberal and conservative thought.

Since its founding and continuing to this very day, the Monash University Liberal Club hold weekly meetings, debating a variety of topics. Join us every Wednesday 1pm to join the discussions!

Club members can also enjoy the social side of politics, making friends through numerous pub nights throughout the year.

Every year the club travels to Canberra for its annual budget trip, visiting Parliament House, meeting Liberal MPs and getting up close to the halls of power.

Moreover, the club continues its involvement in the annual Sir Robert Menzies Lecture. Founded in 1978 by club members, it features prominent politicians, diplomats and intellectuals delivering a keynote speech on liberalism, honouring Australia’s longest serving Prime Minister.

Above all, we forever hold true to our motto, ‘Libertas Omnia Vincit’ (Freedom Conquers All), and eagerly look forward to continuing the struggle with you.
